KG NYC: I got asked out yesterday

I got asked out yesterday.

The person asking was my cab driver.

Enough said.

If you move to NYC, you can pretty much bet on the following:

seeing someone famous

almost stepping in dog poo

rarely using your debit card

being handed an unwanted flyer

sporadic subway service changes

getting asked for money/food

a neighbor who plays an instrument

a neighbor who has a dog

not using a garbage disposal

eating kosher food

no split checks at restaurants

your heat going out in the winter

mispronouncing a restaurant name

checking obituaries for open apt.'s

ditching your inside-out umbrella

hearing the word "shlep"

almost getting run over by a cab

getting honked at for jay-walking

smelling someone else's B.O.

visiting Starbucks

seeing someone dig through trash

owning furniture from the street

not noticing police sirens anymore

passing a pot smoker on the street

knowing the exterminator by name

sharing food w/a table next to you

a friend that works in fashion

seeing a lost glove on the ground

walking a lot and never fast enough

getting caught in a subway door

getting a straw with your soda can

knowing how stock market is doing

hearing new uses of the "f" word

investing in an ipod

a lack of public restrooms

squeezing in a public restroom stall

not using your cell on the subway

asking someone for directions

buying a humidifier

accidentally stepping in a puddle

getting splashed by passing traffic

wearing pot-hole smoke perfume

finding out bed bugs aren't fictional

hearing a foreign language

buying milk close to exp. date

investing in good moisturizer

"curbing" your dog

never pumping gas

seeing a dog with shoes on
